“Practitioner’s Checklist” for Avoiding Genericide has been published.
Our partner Ayşen Kunt, who was the Subcommittee Chair at the Famous and Well-Known Marks Committee of INTA, provided the publication of The “Practitioner’s Checklist” for Avoiding Genericide in the International Trademark Association (INTA) Resources section, https://www.inta.org/wp-content/uploads/public-files/resources/practice-research/AVOIDINGGENERICIDE.pdf. This checklist has been the result of several terms of dedicated work by the Genericide Subcommittee, having reviewed global case law, publications, and guidelines to help brand owners prevent trademarks from becoming generic.
