The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office will be examining the revocation applications as of 10 January 2024.
As of 10 January 2024, applications for the revocation of trademarks -due to non-use, becoming a common name, having a misleading indication, or use of guarantee or collective marks contrary to technical specifications- will be filed before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
Even though the procedures have started before the Office, the amendment on the Regulation has not entered into force yet. Nobody is sure how the applications will proceed and there are some uncertainties as to the implementation. The Office accepts “pre-application” at this stage, which means that they may require some additional information or payment in the following days.
