


Melis Sılacı Korkmaz graduated from the Faculty of Law at Galatasaray University in 2013. She began her legal career at one of Turkey’s leading law firms, where she gained extensive experience particularly in intellectual property law and dispute resolution.
She completed her LL.M. in Economic Law at Istanbul Bilgi University. Her master’s thesis, titled “Validity and Capacity of Arbitration Agreements under the New York Convention”, was published as a book in 2020.
She provides strategic counsel to clients in the field of intellectual and industrial property law, managing portfolio creation and administration processes in alignment with their commercial objectives. She represents domestic and multinational companies operating across various sectors, including fashion, technology, media, cosmetics, and tourism.
She has extensive experience in administrative and judicial proceedings concerning trademarks, designs, patents, and utility models, and leads the strategic planning and conduct of invalidation, infringement, unfair competition, and damages actions.
She currently serves as a member of the SME Resources Committee within the International Trademark Association (INTA), contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing intellectual property awareness and resources for small and medium-sized enterprises.
